Bloodshots 2009 BLOODSHOTS is our longest running Filmmaking Frenzy competition, and always one of our absolute favorites. The concept is simple: filmmaking teams have 48 hours to create an original horror film based on the subgenre, weapon and line of dialog we randomly assign. No filming or writing can take place before the 48 hour period begins, and no film can be accepted if it comes in even one minute after the 48 hour period.

The 2009 edition of BLOODSHOTS will be taking place in October, not September (as it has for the past couple of years), with registration opening up October 5, and the shooting weekend will begin at 7pm on Friday, October 9 then conclude at 7pm on Sunday, October 11. We'll announce subgenres, weapons and dialog online as well as in person at our launch party at precisely 7pm that Friday, and final films will either need to be handed to us at the wrap party on Sunday or COMPLETELY UPLOADED by 7pm. Plan for Internet problems accordingly, because we don't want to hear any sob stories unless there's a LOT of violence involved.

If you're new to the mayhem that is BLOODSHOTS, check out last year's videos here. And start making your gallons of fake blood now, or just go in knowing that you're gonna have to rely on the real stuff.
