Update 1/11/08: The required bumper tag videos for Rewind Kindly submissions are now available for download in AVI or MOV format. Finished films can now be uploaded to our site, upload films from your account page.

Update 1/7/08: BE KIND REWIND has been accepted as part of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. This pushes back the release date of the film, which in turn, pushes back the deadlines for the REWIND KINDLY Filmmaking Frenzy. Films are now due on our server at 5 PM on Friday, February 8 CST (We will be posting a link to our upload server on January 11). Screenings will take place at the Alamo South Lamar between Feb 18-20 (check back on Feb 11 for the screening schedule). The Awards ceremony will be held at the Alamo South Lamar on Thursday, Feb 21, 9:45 PM. You can still register a team anytime until 5 PM February 8.

ABOUT REWIND KINDLY: Director Michel Gondry continues the surreal efforts of ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP with this imaginative comedy. Jack Black plays a man who accidentally erases every movie at a local video store, then he and the employee (Mos Def) must reconstruct every film that he destroyed by acting them out. The movie opens at the Alamo South Lamar on February 21. Beginning on January 1, teams can register on this website to compete in a filmmaking competition inspired by BE KIND REWIND. Teams will have until Febrary 8 to complete an up-to-five-minute, homemade, low-budget remake of a popular hollywood film. Films will be screened at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on February 18-20, with a "best of" screening and awards ceremony on Feb 21.

Grand prize for Rewind Kindly is a quad-core AMD-powered Dell workstation with a 30-inch monitor. 2nd prize is an AMD-powered 17" Dell laptop. The winning films will also be included in the Alamo preshow for the duration of the BE KIND REWIND theatrical engagement.
